Dazzling lights and décor awaited guests at Sparkling Nights presented by the 18th Annual Spirit of SRVS on Saturday, August 20, from 7:00-11:30 p.m. at the Hilton Memphis. The event grossed more than $195,000 through ticket sales, auction items, sponsorships and donations.
More than 40 vendors, local restaurants and breweries were in attendance and served guests a variety of appetizers, desserts, wines and beers throughout the evening. The new VIP Area featured décor by Ashlye McCormick Design, specialty drinks, appetizers by Executive Chef Stanley Gibson from The Crescent Club and desserts by Food Network Star Executive Chef Aryen Moore-Alston of Sweet Potato Baby.
The night’s entertainment included a video presentation by SRVS Kids & Families graduate Ben Halvorson entitled “Ben’s Story,” two dance performances by Company d dancers and a rocking performance by the SRVS Star Performers (pictured left).
Sparkling Nights’ emcee Joe Birch, Jr. and auctioneer Steve Conley led the live auction, which concluded with a 9 liter Cabernet Sauvignon in honor of longtime SRVS Supporter the late Bill Huddleston. The priceless tribute wine was sold for $800. The night concluded with a dance party led by DJ Eddie Kivelle of Disc Jockeys etc., following the close of the auction.
Special thanks to sponsors, auction donors, community volunteers, Sparkling Nights Committee Members, SRVS Board of Directors, SRVS staff and people supported.
